Our pregnancy tests are professional quality, highly sensitive, and provide immediate results. They detect the presence of hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) hormone which circulates in a pregnant woman’s body shortly after fertilization and is released in her urine. A positive pregnancy test alone cannot make the diagnosis of pregnancy. We offer ultrasound confirmation of an intrauterine pregnancy.
Ultrasound can assist in several important ways and answers the question “Am I really pregnant?” It can be a great indicator of how far along you are by using measurements to estimate the gestational age of the fetus.
The ultrasound exam can determine the location of the pregnancy (is it growing inside the uterus). If the pregnancy is not in the uterus, you could have an ectopic pregnancy. This is an emergency situation and can be life-threatening.
Ultrasound can determine the viability (a viable pregnancy is one that is capable of developing under normal conditions). Does the fetus have a heartbeat? Approximately 15 to 20% of pregnancies end naturally in miscarriage. Most occur in the first 13 weeks of pregnancy.*
Our medical staff will determine if you are eligible for an ultrasound. You must meet certain criteria and some restrictions apply.
Sound Choices Medical Clinic will provide you with a verification of pregnancy. We provide referrals for continued medical care and social services. We can refer you to the Pregnancy Resource Center for additional support if parenting is your choice. They offer support, parenting classes and material assistance.
SOUND CHOICES MEDICAL CLINIC DOES NOT OFFER ABORTION SERVICES OR ABORTION REFERRALS.
